Changes to Safe Deposit Box Renewals

May 1st of each year marks the renewal for all of Florida Commerce's safe deposit boxes, and on April 1st we'll be sending letters reminding members of the upcoming renewal and deduction from their account.

Florida Commerce first started offering safe deposit boxes in 1993 when the Maclay Branch opened, and believe it or not, have only altered the price once on a few sizes. Unfortunately, the cost of maintaining a safe deposit box program hasn’t stood still in the last 17 years – the cost of the boxes themselves, insurance, servicing costs, salaries, etc, have all continued to increase over the years.

You'll be happy to know that even after our slight increase in renewal prices, Florida Commerce still has some of the lowest rentals in the Tallahassee area as some large banks charge more than $60 for a small box.

Yearly Rental Rates

Small - $30

Medium - $42

Large - $60

X-Large - $110

Discounts – greater of (but not both):

$20 off your rental rate for aggregate balances of $25,000 or greater, or

25% off the rental rate for members 65 and older.
