Florida Commerce continues to be strong and focused on the future.

Dear Members,

For over 70 years, Florida Commerce has served the Tallahassee region with a commitment to service, people and community. Today, we stand proud as the area’s largest local credit union and one of the strongest financial institutions in the state of Florida.

Our capital is 12.7% and combined with other financial measurements places us among the top 20% of credit unions in the nation. Even still, the ongoing economic challenges, recent regulatory changes, and government assessments have negatively impacted our earnings. We understand our fiduciary duty to our membership, and we understand that in order to be around for another 70+ years, we must manage through these unique circumstances.

Our Management Team and Board of Directors have had thoughtful discussions regarding strategies to maintain our financial strength. Specifically, we are looking for ways to reduce operating expenses and boost revenues to ensure we can continue to pay competitive dividends on deposits and offer affordable rates on loans.

Here’s a quick snapshot of how we plan to stay North Florida’s strongest, most member-centric financial institution:

  • We will continue…to pursue new lines of business when we see an opportunity to provide a product or service our market needs.

  • We will continue… to embrace technology because it allows us to provide convenient channels to members who may not have a branch nearby or simply prefer to handle their finances remotely.
  • We will continue… to market the value of Florida Commerce because we believe our community deserves to know about how credit union membership will improve their household economy.
  • We will continue… to support our community because we want to help enhance the quality of life where our members live, work, and play.
